About the Workshop

Join Natural Dye Specialist Olivia in reviving an ancient craft, as you create beautiful, vibrant inks made directly from flowers. To begin the session, Olivia will guide you through the process of extracting colours from flowers to create beautiful inks - a method you can easily recreate at home. You will then explore the colour potential of each plant with a guided painting session - melding the worlds of art, science and folktale with paintings inspired by myths and legends. The number of paintings you create is entirely up to you. You will gain an understanding of the basics of natural ink-making, leaving with beautiful works of art and a new outlook on the plants growing around you! All materials provided. Beginner friendly - no natural dyeing/painting experience needed. About Olivia: Since stumbling upon the beauty of natural colour while at University, Olivia has taught in classrooms, floral studios, museums and festival fields, in an effort to re-enchant people with the natural world around us. Back in her natural dye studio in Belper, she hand-dyes dreamily soft accessories & homeware, coloured with nature.
